Contact Portal: Preferences

These settings control what contacts can see and do inside their contact portal.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Status Display Type | Sets how ticket status appears to contacts in the contact portal. Toggle between the status name (for example, "On Hold") or the status behavior (for example, "Pending"). |
| Allow contacts to close tickets | Lets contacts close their own pending tickets from the contact portal. When enabled, set a default closure status, which is the status applied when the contact marks a ticket closed. This action bypasses all custom field validations. |
| Show ticket due date | Displays the ticket due date to the contact in their contact portal. |
| Show time spent on ticket | Displays the total time logged on the ticket to the contact in their contact portal. |
| Show ticket assignee | Displays the assigned agent's name to the contact in their contact portal. |
Login and Privacy
Signup and Login

These settings control how contacts sign up and sign in to your support center.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Support Center Landing Page | Sets the default page contacts land on after signing in. Applies only to logged-in contacts. Contacts can change this from their own contact portal settings. |
| Contact Login Method | Sets how contacts authenticate to access their contact portal. |
| Allow contacts to view KB without logging in | When enabled, anyone can browse KB articles without signing in. When disabled, the Login page becomes the support center home page. |
| Allow contacts to view forum without logging in | When enabled, anyone can read forum posts without signing in. |
| Allow contacts to sign in using Google | Shows or hides the Google Single Sign-On option on your support center login page. See Enable Google Login SSO for setup instructions. |
NoteFor KB or Home to work as the support center landing page, there must be at least one published external article available in the brand.
GDPR
These settings let you add and customize GDPR consent text on the signup form and new ticket form, for contacts in regions covered by GDPR. Use the Translate button to provide consent text in any language you have enabled in your support center.

SEO Optimization
These settings control how search engines discover and display your support center.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Allow Search Engines to index your support center | When disabled, sends a no-index signal to search engines so your support center does not appear in public search results. |
| Generate a public sitemap | Creates a sitemap that helps search engines discover all your published KB content. Once enabled, the sitemap is available at yourbrand.happyfox.com/sitemap.xml. |
Pages
Configure the page title, meta description, and meta keywords for your prominent support center pages, including Home, Login, and New Ticket. You can also set a social media sharing image and display format, which is useful when KB articles are shared on platforms like LinkedIn or X.
