If HappyFox Messaging translation is unavailable or the language is unexpected, check configuration, assignment, and which direction you are reviewing.
Check incoming translation
- Ask an administrator to open the widget's WEB MESSAGING → Configuration page.
- Confirm Live Translations is on, Translate visitor messages into has the intended agent language, and the settings are saved.
- Check the assignee. Only that agent can start or stop automatic incoming translation.
- In your assigned conversation, select Start Translating. The control turns blue when active.
New contact messages are translated from that point onward. Use Translate beneath an earlier message or Show original beneath a translation to check the wording.
See translation setup and agent translation controls.
Check outgoing language
Agent replies use the language inferred from the contact's last three messages. Review those messages if the outgoing language is unexpected, especially after a language change.
Confirm the result
In a test conversation, have the contact send a clear message in the intended language. Check its translation, send an agent reply, and review the contact-facing result.
If it still fails, contact HappyFox Support with the widget, configured agent language, assignee, translation state, and original/translated examples with personal details removed.
