Multi brand in HappyFox help-desk

  • Your company can run multiple services or sell different products, based on your business operations you can create multiple brands within HappyFox help-desk to manage all your day to day customer service activities. Each brand can have its own support center.

  • For example, Acme Corp can have business like below; and each of these business lines can have its own brand URL or domain and support center.

    • Acme Technology

    • Acme Foods

    • Acme Retail

    • Acme Clothing

    • Acme Travel Services etc.,

  • How to setup multi brand in HappyFox?

  • In HappyFox help-desk, when you create a new brand, the brand's domain (site URL) will be auto generated based on the brand name.

  • This auto generated brand domain (site URL) can be customised as per your needs by configuring Custom Domain and SSL in HappyFox.

SSL support for multi-brands

When you configure a new brand in HappyFox help-desk two things will happen automatically,

  1. By default, the brand domain will be SSL enabled i.e, the security protocol will be “HTTPS” for the brand'ss domain (site URL) and,

  2. The auto-generated brand domain (site URL) will be in the following format,

<protocol><brand name>-<subdomain>.happyfox.com

E.g. https://retail-acmecorporation.happyfox.com

Note: hyphen (-) in between the brand name and the sub domain.

Multi-brands created on or before June 30, 2022

  • Brands that were created or configured before June 30, 2022 will have their brand domain (site URL) in the following format

    • <brand name>.<subdomain>.happyfox.com

    • Note: dot (.) in between the brand name and subdomain.

  • Also, SSL will not be enabled for these brand URLs by default

How to enable SSL for these brands?

  1. Navigate to Manage > Multi brand

  2. Click on the brand to which you want to enable SSL

Note: The brand URLs that are not SSL enabled will have “http” as the prefix.

  1. A new toggle “Enable HTTPS for Brand” will be available.

Toggle for existing brands

  1. Switch the toggle ON to enable it.

Once this toggle is enabled and save, two things will happen automatically

  1. Your brand domain will be SSL enabled i.e, the security protocol will be “HTTPS” for the brand’s domain (site URL) and,

  2. The auto-generated brand domain (site URL)  will be changed to the following format,

        <protocol><brand name>-<subdomain>.happyfox.com

        https://retail-acmecorporation.happyfox.com

Note: hyphen (-) in between the brand name and the sub domain

Important points to note before enabling this feature

  1. After this change, When someone visits the old URL that is http://<brand name>.<subdomain>.happyfox.com they will be automatically redirected to the new URL https://<brand name>-<subdomain>.happyfox.com

  2. This is one time irreversible action.

  • Once SSL is enabled for a brand domain it cannot be turned off. The URL format changed to <brand name> - <subdomain>.happyfox.com (hyphenated URL) cannot be moved back to <brand name>.<subdomain>.happyfox.com (dot URL).
  • The “Enable HTTPS for brand” toggle will not be displayed after you save the brand.
  • However as explained above, redirection from the old to the new URL will happen automatically after this SSL enablement.

3. This change or update will not have any impact on your Custom Domain configuration. All configurations related to Custom domain and SSL will remain intact.

4. On top of this default Multi-brand SSL support for the brands you can still configure Custom domains and SSL for your brands based on your requirements.

Advantages of enabling this toggle for existing brands

  1. Safe and Secure Domain - This means that your brand domain will be more secure and when your customers land on your brand home page they will see “https” as the security protocol and a “secure padlock symbol” before the brand URL in their browser.

  1. Improved SEO for the brand domain.

FAQs

1. Can we move to the older version after switching to the new one?

No - Once SSL is enabled it can’t be reverted to the older format (non-SSL domain). However, all traffic to the old URL (http://brand.subdomain.happyfox.com) will be redirected to the new URL (https://brand-subdomain.happyfox.com)

2. What will happen if a custom domain is configured for a brand?

Custom domains that are currently configured for the brands will continue to work.

3. What will happen when the agent portal is moved to the classic version?

This change is independent of the version of the agent portal.
