What is HappyFox Messaging?

HappyFox Messaging lets people contact your support team through a website widget while agents respond in HappyFox Help Desk.

From visitor to contact

Visitors can request an agent directly or start with the optional ChatBot. They enter their name and email and provide consent if required. Agents can then see their contact details alongside the conversation.

An eligible agent accepts the request and replies from the Conversations tab in Help Desk. Agents and contacts can exchange messages and attachments. If the contact started with ChatBot, the agent receives its transcript at handoff.

Work in Help Desk

The Conversations workspace brings together messages, contact details, assignment, and category. Agents can switch between requests, use reply tools, and see who is viewing a conversation or preparing a reply in real time.

HappyFox Messaging uses Help Desk Smart Rules, SLAs, notifications, and reporting. On the Tickets page or in reports, use Ticket Source → is → Web Messaging. The separate Chat and Messaging source values identify other channels.

See workspace navigation and replying to a conversation.

Set up your account

Install the widget from Chatbot → Installation and keep Enable Chatbot on. Use Instant Escalation to offer a direct agent option; no ChatBot subscription is required.

Configure conversation categories, agent access, and support hours. Agents start Unavailable after sign-in and become Available when ready. Follow the setup guide.

Continue support

Either party can end a conversation. A later request starts a new conversation. For email follow-up, Convert to Ticket creates a new email ticket with the conversation transcript attached to the email.
