Todoist Integration with HappyFox Helpdesk

Todoist is a task management app that helps users organize, track, and prioritize to-dos and projects.

With the Todoist integration, HappyFox Helpdesk agents can:

  • Create a new Todoist task directly from a HappyFox Helpdesk ticket.
  • Link an existing Todoist task to a HappyFox Helpdesk ticket for tracking.
  • Enable two-way real-time synchronization between Todoist comments and HappyFox ticket updates.

Configuring HappyFox to Connect to Todoist:

  • Log in to HappyFox Helpdesk and navigate to the Apps module.
  • Search for Todoist or browse under the Project Management category.
  • Click on the Todoist tile and select Install.
  • To integrate your Todoist account with HappyFox Help Desk, click the Link Todoist button.
  • You will be redirected to authorize your Todoist account, once the authorization is completed, the account will be linked.
  • Post a brief delay you will be able to access a section where you can synchronize HappyFox ticket updates and Todoist comments across the two platforms.
    • Sync updates from HappyFox to Todoist: Enabling this toggle will let you push HappyFox ticket replies and Private notes as "Comments" inside Todoist.
    • Sync updates from Todoist to HappyFox: Enabling this toggle will let you synchronize Todoist "Comments" as Todoist Sync notes inside HappyFox.
  • Upon enabling sync settings, after a brief delay, you will also be able to synchronize HappyFox ticket updates and Todoist comments by default for every linked ticket.
  • This setting can be overridden at the ticket level. To do so, open the individual ticket in the helpdesk > go to the Todoist widget > click the edit button > and configure the sync settings for that specific ticket.

Creating a New Todoist Task:

  • Open a ticket in HappyFox Helpdesk.

  • In the Todoist section on the right pane, click Create.

  • Choose the project where the task should be added.
  • The task details like task name and description will be pre-filled with information from the HappyFox ticket, you can also add the due data and priority to the task. (Note: Default priority will be low if not selected)
  • Once the task is created, it will be visible in the right pane of the HappyFox Helpdesk ticket.
  • Clicking on the popover icon will take you directly to the respective Todoist task.

Linking an Existing Todoist task:

  • Open the ticket in HappyFox Helpdesk.
  • Click the Link button in the Todoist section.
  • Paste the Todoist task ID and click Link Todoist task.
  • The linked task will now be displayed in the right pane of the HappyFox ticket.
  • The Todoist task ID is the alphanumeric string found at the end of the task URL. Example: In the URL`https://app.todoist.com/app/task/approval-6c9WwpXjwpMCxgRg`, the task ID is 6c9WwpXjwpMCxgRg.

Unlinking an Existing Todoist Task:

  • Open the ticket in HappyFox Helpdesk.
  • Click on the Unlink button in the Todoist section.
  • Confirm by clicking the Unlink Task.

Unlinking Todoist Account:

  • Navigate to the Apps module in HappyFox Helpdesk.
  • Find the Todoist app and click on the Manage button on the Todoist app integration page.
  • Click Unlink Todoist Account to disconnect the integration.

Permissions Required:

  • You must have Manage Apps Settings permission in HappyFox Helpdesk to configure and manage the Todoist integration.
