This article covers what's specific to Slack when using the Request Approval action — selecting Slack as the platform and how approvers respond. For the full setup — configuring approvers, decision logic, and the Approved and Declined branches — see How to Set Up an Approval Workflow in HappyFox Workflows.
Prerequisites
- Your HappyFox Workflows account must be integrated with a Slack workspace. See Integrate your Slack Workspace with HappyFox Workflows.
- You must have a workflow with a Request Approval action already added. See How to Set Up an Approval Workflow in HappyFox Workflows if you haven't configured one yet.
Steps
- In the Request Approval action, select Slack from the Platform dropdown.
The Platform dropdown with Slack selected.
- Configure the approvers, decision logic, subject, and message fields as described in How to Set Up an Approval Workflow in HappyFox Workflows. [VERIFY: confirm whether any field labels or options differ specifically for the Slack platform]
- Click Save.
Note: Once this workflow runs, approvers receive a direct message from the HappyFox Workflows app in Slack, where they can approve or decline the request. The message also shows the approval logic in effect — for example, First Responder, Everyone, Anyone, or Majority — so the approver knows how their decision factors into the final outcome.

Your workflow now sends approval requests through Slack. Next, see How to Set Up an Approval Workflow in HappyFox Workflows to configure the Approved and Declined branches that run after a decision is made.
