Failed SMS Processing Fee in Happyfox Helpdesk
print icon

To enhance your messaging experience, our provider is implementing a Failed Message Processing Fee. HappyFox is making this update to stay aligned with changes from our providers. This fee supports the advanced pre-checks performed on messages before they are sent, ensuring successful delivery and avoiding the termination costs commonly associated with message failures.

When Will the Fee Apply?

Starting October 7th, 2024, your account will be charged $0.001 for each SMS message that receives a “Failed” status.

Important Points:

  • Only messages that fail will incur this charge.

  • Messages marked as “Undelivered” or with other statuses will not be charged this fee.

Exceptions:

Certain types of message failures will not incur the processing fee, including:

  • Failures caused by internal errors.

  • Expired validity periods.

  • Failures due to account restrictions or fraud detection measures.

  • Messages blocked by SMS protection features.

  • Failures resulting from geographic restrictions.

  • Meta-imposed restrictions on messaging platforms.

  • Specific error codes associated with undelivered messages.

How is the Fee Calculated>

The fee is applied per message, not per segment. For example, if a failed message consists of two segments (A segment is 160 character) and if it fails, you will be charged for just one message.

Common Causes of Message Failures:

  • Retrying requests that receive client errors (4xx HTTP status codes).

  • Invalid numbers in your contact lists. Consider updating or removing any numbers that consistently fail.

  • Other specific error codes that may indicate different causes. Each error code has associated explanations and potential solutions in our error dictionary.

  • Automatic replies to incoming messages, which can be disabled if not needed.
