A single table, tile or a graph that represents information is called visualization. You can create and edit visualizations based on your business needs. It can also be referred to as a “Visual”.

How to create a visualization?

  1. Log in to your HappyFox BI account and click the menu bar icon on the top left of the page.

  2. Choose the page in which you want to add a visualization. Learn more about creating a new page.

  1. Click on the “Add visualization” button on the top right of the screen.

  1. You will be directed to the “Create Visualization” page, where you can set up your visualization.

  2. Edit the name of your visualization by updating the ‘Name’ field.

  3. Choose the desired visualization type from the dropdown.

  4. Choose a suitable dataset to build your visualization from the ‘Dataset’ dropdown. Choosing the correct dataset to build the visualization is crucial.

  • Tickets dataset contains all the information at a ticket level like first response time, average response time, ticket ID and so on

  • Ticket Activity dataset contains all the information with respect to ticket updates like count of replies added, call notes added and so on

  • Ticket Lifecycle dataset contains all the information during the course of a ticket lifecycle like the statuses, categories the ticket moved, time spent in each status and so on

  • Contacts dataset has all the information about the contacts like name, tickets associated with the client and so on

  • Contact groups dataset has all the information about contact groups like the organization’s name, tickets associated with the organization and so on.

  1. Select a value from the ‘Date range field’ dropdown, this selection determines the tickets data to be extracted for the visualization. For instance, creating a visualization using ‘Tickets’ as the dataset and ‘Created On’ as the date range field, filters the visual by all tickets created during the selected date range.

  1. The current selection of date range can be viewed on the left side of the settings tab and can be altered by clicking on the date filter. This date filter reflects across all the reports and pages within your HappyFox BI account. Learn more about the date filter.

  1. Based on the type of visualization selected, add a suitable number of fields for labels/axis/values by clicking on the ‘+’ symbol next to each. Information on how many fields to be added for each visualization type appears on the left pane.

  1. Select the fields their aggregation type, format from the ‘Add field’ dialog box. Note: ‘Aggregation Type’ dropdown appears only for fields in which aggregation is possible

  2. Once the settings are updated, click the “Save” button to view your visual on the desired page. Click to know more about filtering, sorting, and labeling options available within the settings page.
