Integrate your Microsoft Intune with HappyFox Helpdesk

Microsoft Intune is a cloud-based service that focuses on mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM). It helps organizations control how their corporate data is accessed and shared. The integration of Microsoft Intune with HappyFox help desk solutions enables seamless device synchronization, associating devices from Intune with tickets and contacts within the help desk, ensuring efficient support, immediate updates, and enhanced collaboration between IT support teams and end-users.

With Microsoft Intune - Happyfox Help Desk Integration

Sync Devices: Devices managed by Intune are seamlessly synchronized with the Happyfox Help Desk platform, ensuring up-to-date device information for efficient management.  

Associate Tickets with Devices: Happyfox Help Desk tickets can be directly associated with specific devices from Intune, allowing for more accurate tracking and resolution of issues.  

Associate Contacts with Devices: User contacts are linked with their respective devices, providing a comprehensive view and facilitating better communication and support.

 

Installation Guidelines:

Permission Alert: You require Manage App Settings managerial permission to install or configure the Microsoft Intune app for your HappyFox Help Desk account. To successfully integrate MS Intune with HappyFox Helpdesk, you must also have the "Global Administrator" role in your Microsoft account.

  • Please log in to your HappyFox Help Desk account.  

  • Go to All Apps, select Microsoft Intune from the menu and click on Install.

  • To connect your Microsoft Intune account with the Helpdesk, click the Link Microsoft Intune button.

  • Sign in with the Microsoft account you want to use for device synchronization, and accept the requested permissions.

Note: Once the OAuth flow is completed, only devices from the default tenant will be synced.

  • In the next screen, you will notice that asset synchronization is enabled and syncing is in progress.

Note: After connecting with Microsoft Intune account, a default sync will be initiated. Syncing assets from your Microsoft Intune to Happyfox Help Desk may take a few minutes.

  • Once the assets are synchronized, you will notice the last sync timestamp, the number of assets synced, and the option to download the synced assets report.

Note: By default, asset synchronization from Microsoft Intune to HappyFox Help Desk is scheduled daily at 12:01 am, aligned with the account's timezone. Additionally, you can manually trigger synchronization by selecting the "Sync Now" button.

  • To add an additional tenant, click the + icon next to "Synced Tenants" and enter the tenant ID.

 

Managed Asset Type:

  • During the asset synchronization process, two managed asset types—Computer and Mobile—have been introduced in your HappyFox Help Desk account.

  • You can access the managed asset types under "Asset → Settings → Asset Type."

  • The Managed types—Computer and Mobile—will be accompanied by an icon next to them, indicating the respective asset types created during Microsoft Intune synchronization.

  • The Managed asset types cannot be edited or deleted.

  • You can adjust the contact association, ticket association, and asset quantity on the ticket toggle according to your requirements.

 

Managed Asset Fields:

  • Managed asset fields are added to managed asset types (Computer and Mobile).

  • You can access the managed asset fields under “Asset → Settings → Asset fields.”

  • The Managed asset fields for computers and mobile devices vary, as they are designed based on the responses received from Microsoft Intune.

  • The Managed asset fields cannot  be edited or deleted.

  • To create a custom field under a managed asset type, simply click the "+" icon next to the asset type name.

  • Custom fields can be cloned, edited, and deleted as needed.

 

Managed Asset:

  • Assets from Microsoft Intune are automatically synced to their respective managed asset types.

  • You can access the managed assets by navigating to "Assets" and selecting the desired asset type (Computer or Mobile).

  • Assets synced from Microsoft Intune will be accompanied by an icon. Clicking on this icon will redirect you to the asset detail page in Intune.

  • The managed assets can be cloned but cannot be edited or deleted.

  • You can edit, clone, or delete assets manually added.

  • Contacts can be assigned to the asset from the Contact component in the right pane.

  • Tickets associated with the asset can be viewed in the Recent Ticket section.

  • You can manually add assets under the managed asset type.

 

 

 

Manage the Intune App:

  • Clicking "Disable this app" on the Microsoft Integration page will deactivate the integration, disconnecting the asset sync.

  • To enable the sync, click "Enable this app" in the status section. After enabling the app, reauthorize the tenant to activate it again.


Note: Deleting the synced Intune account or disabling the app on the Intune app manage page will not un-sync or remove synced assets from HappyFox Help Desk
