Access to the Autopilot page and AI Agents in HappyFox Help Desk is controlled through role-based permissions. This makes sure that only authorized users can hire, configure, or manage AI Agents in your help desk account.
Understanding AI Agent Permissions
AI Agent access is governed by a single permission available under Manage → Roles & Permissions.
When the AI Agents permission is enabled for a role:
- Members of that role can view and access the Autopilot page from the sidebar.
- They can hire, configure, enable, disable, and manage AI Agents without restrictions.
- They can view AI Agent activity logs and configuration pages.
When the permission is not enabled:
- Members of that role can still see the Autopilot page, but only in a view-only mode.
- The AI Agent Marketplace appears visible but inactive - cards cannot be clicked, and no actions can be performed.
- The user cannot hire, deploy, configure, or manage any AI Agents.
Default Access
By default, only account admins have the AI Agents permission enabled.
Other roles must be explicitly granted this permission to perform any actions inside Autopilot.
Managing the Permission
To modify AI Agent access:
- Navigate to Manage → Roles & Permissions.
- Choose the role you want to edit.
- Enable or disable the AI Agents permission.
- Save your changes.
Once saved, all users under that role will inherit the updated access level immediately.
What Restricted Users See
Users without permission:
- Can open the Autopilot page but cannot interact with it.
- Will see an inactive version of the AI Agent Marketplace with unclickable agent cards.
- Cannot open configuration or activity pages for any AI Agents.
